You can choose to follow a guided tour or walk through on your own. The guided tour will take you around the outside of the crater. We did not take this tour so we're not sure how long that may take. If, like us, you choose to venture outside on your own, your access is limited to 3 lookout points on the rim of the crater which proved to be more than sufficient. There is also an interactive walk through museum inside, a movie that you can view and, of course, a gift shop. You could probably do all of this in as little as 2 hours or you can linger as long as you'd like.
