Grand Canyon Truck and Motorcycle Trip - Try Our Next Gen Truck Friendly Hotel Locator

If you're like us, your love for driving isn't limited to just your big rig. When we found ourselves with some extra time near Flagstaff Arizona, we decided to park the truck and visit the Grand Canyon National Park on the back of a Harley Davidson. You can easily park your truck and trailer at the Pilot Travel Center located at Exit 185 on Interstate 40 in Bellemont, AZ. We rented the motorcycle from Grand Canyon Harley Davidson which is located directly across I-40 on East Bellemont Road. They have a gravel parking area adjacent to their entrance that is big enough for one or two trucks with trailers but we wouldn't recommend relying on that to be available. Please take a moment to share your favorite travel destinations with us by filling out our Travel Submissions Form.

Grand Canyon Harley Davidson was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. We had never been to the Grand Canyon before but they helped us find the bike that was most suitable for the bags we needed to bring and the type of roads we'd be traveling. For rental of the bike we needed our license, including a motorcycle endorsement for the driver of the bike, and a credit or debit card. They allow rental periods from partial day to entire weeks. Prices range from $100 to $140 per day depending on the amount of days you plan to keep the bike.

From Grand Canyon Harley Davidson it's about 72 miles to the Grand Canyon National Park entrance. Head WEST on I-40 for approximately 19 miles. Take EXIT 165 and turn RIGHT onto AZ-64 NORTH for approximately 50 miles. At the circle, continue STRAIGHT on AZ-64/US-180 NORTH.

About 2 miles before the entrance to the park, there is a cluster of hotels and restaurants. The current cost to enter the park on a motorcycle is listed online as $12 per person. From the park information center you can find maps of the surrounding roads and parking areas that offer various views of the Grand Canyon. We'd love to hear your Grand Canyon stories or other travel destinations you love. You can submit them to be posted on our site by clicking here on Travel Submissions.
