Going To Missouri To Get My New Trailer. A Joey Slaughter Blog

I sold my car hauler in November right before I started helping out Walmart for the Christmas season.  I really didn’t expect to sell it as fast as I did, but as I got tired of the extra maintenance and time it took to operate such a trailer, there were up and comers looking for that type of equipment to give it a shot for themselves.  During November and December as I looked for a step deck trailer, I stayed busy hauling Walmart toys.

Finally my trailer was ready to be picked up in Villa Ridge, MO on Dec. 23rd so I told them that I’d wait until after the new year and took a few weeks off with my family.  As it was time to leave to go get trailer, I got sick…  I decided to plow through it and keep going which was not a wise choice.  I was able to drive to Missouri and return with trailer, a trip of 1600 miles, but it wasn’t easy.  I battled the Polar Vortex, -15 degrees in MO and over a foot of snow, all while having a fever and terrible cough!

My wife thinks I’m crazy or more accurately stupid when I attempt something like that and she may be right.  I’m a very determined (hard-headed) person and will do whatever it takes to complete a task.  Anyway, I have the trailer finally and look forward to my new operation with it.  I’ll write about that next time..
