Bruno is a St. Bernard mix that we had the privilege of transporting. Bruno was rehabilitated by volunteers from the Southern West Virginia Animal League (SWVAL) and adopted by a family in Topeka Kansas. We were happy to do what we could which was to allow him to hitch a ride with us half way across the country to his new forever home. This is part two of Bruno's journey. Though Bruno was bathed at the Vet prior to pick up, there was not enough time to groom him before we were scheduled to arrive. Once on board our truck, the fur was flying! We ended up having a layover between loads near our home town where we were able to seek out the help of a close friend and Veterinarian.
Doctor Miki King is the proprietor of New London Veterinary Center located at 437 New London Road Newark, DE 19711. We had no appointment and yet, everyone welcomed us kindly. Lauren McCulley, a staff member at New London, was more than happy to help us get Bruno trimmed up and you can see from the photos that it was no small task. She generously donated the cost of her services.
We were cautious entering the waiting area, not knowing how Bruno would react when encountering other animals. To our surprise and delight, he remained happy and calm when greeted by several new people and a few different cats. He stood patiently as Lauren worked her magic.
While we waited on Lauren to finish up, we were excited to meet little Jodie Mae. She is the adorable English Bulldog puppy you see being held by Dr. King in the photos. Dr. King is the proud new Mommy of Jodie Mae and they both look pretty happy about that. We are grateful to the staff at New London Veterinary Center for all of their help and generosity. Bruno was now looking great and ready to meet his new family. You can find more information about New London Veterinary Center at http://www.myvetonline.com/newlondon/general-information.html
