Atlanta Motor Speedway is located on 887 acres in Hampton Georgia. Just 25 miles south of Atlanta. It is one of the country's top sports, corporate, family and entertainment facilities. Since holding its first race in 1960, Atlanta Motor Speedway has become a premiere facility for multiple forms of racing in addition to a wide range of other events. In 1997, to standardize the track with Speedway Motorsports' other two 1.5 mile ovals, the entire track was almost completely rebuilt. The frontstretch and backstretch were swapped and the configuration of the track was changed from oval to quad-oval. The project made the track one of the fastest on the NASCAR circuit.
