How can you take your business to the next level? Whether you have one truck and want to get to 100 trucks, or you have 100 trucks and want to get to 1,000, I want to be part of that journey. I want to help your business get to that next stage.
In order to do that, you’ll have to avoid a mistake I made. I’ve been in the business for 20 years; we finance big rigs, such as tractors and trailers. Early on, I never envisioned my business as big. We were a small equipment finance company for 18 of those 20 years. We were small because I never dreamed of being bigger. I didn’t think of having 1,000 trucks instead of 100.
You might be in similar position. Maybe you’re operating one truck, but you’d like to get up to 100 trucks. In those days, I would go home at night and I would be angry that my business wasn’t bigger. I wanted more revenue, more customers, and more money left over at night. One day I finally realized I could go expand my business, so that’s what I did.
It took me 18 years to get to $36 million in funding. I got to $100 million in the following 18 months. That’s a big jump (almost 300%). Think of your own business, do you want to go from five trucks to 15 trucks? Do you want to go from 50 trucks to 150?
When you think about bigger business, emotions are fired off in your body. The emotional reaction is what you’re looking for. It might have the same impact for you. You’ll love the idea and go nuts. You might feel the opposite; a bigger business freaks you out. Either way, you have to put yourself through the exercise to trigger an emotion and get to the next level.
Dream bigger. And when you do, ask yourself how the vision of a bigger business makes you feel. If having a company four times larger than the one you own today scares you to death, then don’t do it. That’s alright too. But if you do want to go from five trucks to 50, I want to help you get there!
