Ean Hannah:
"I got into trucking like everyone else, when the economy started turning for the worst. My family owned and operated a business where we raised sheltie sheepdogs. In 2000 my mom passed away from a cancer called single cell carcinoma. That put a strain on us and on our kennel. My father advised that I should find a new job away from the kennel because he can’t afford to pay me anymore".

"I was newly married at this time to my wife of four years. I couldn’t afford to work for free for the family kennel, so I started to work in construction. However, whenever I saw the truckers come onto the construction site I was always fascinated by them. I noticed they always had nice clothes on, and that’s what I wanted for me and my wife. So I turned away from construction and looked towards trucking".

"Now, four years later, I can afford to do things with my family that I haven’t been able to do in a long time. However, the sacrifice given is my time on the road. If you have a strong family that can deal with you being gone so long, it’s worth it".

"For me truck driving is a gratifying job. It gives me a sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment for my family. And I’ll do this until the day I die".  Watch video for complete story.
