“My name’s Steve Allington, also known as Snorelord. I’ve been driving a truck for six years. As a little kid I was always interested in trucks. My dad became a truck driver and I started riding with him during the summer. From that point on I had always had an interest in trucks. I was obsessed with the movie Convoy. From age nine to age fifteen I watched that movie, at least, three hundred times. Because of my passion for the job I’ve become decent at it and now I’m an owner-operator. In six years I’ve grown up. It’s made me the man who I am today. It’s made me appreciate life and it’s made me appreciate family a lot more. I’m not in a factory at the whim of some millionaire who might cut my job at any moment. I’m out here and I’m doing my thing and that’s what I enjoy.”

“I think the hardest part about trucking is the lack of respect from the customers, or people driving to and from work. I think they go by the stereotypes and we’re not all like that, but I’m still proud of who I am and what I do and I wave the flag high.”

“I play in a metal band. The name of the band is Apnea. That’s where the Snorelord comes from. Trying to find the balance between my job, the band, and the family is hard at times, but it’s well worth it. These are all my passions: My family, my music, and my truck.”

“There’s two kinds of drivers out here: Those who think this is just a job, and those who are passionate about this. I’m the latter.”
