Sometimes I Miss That Old AM Radio Static- A Joey Slaughter Blog

Now that I have a Sirius XM satellite radio, I no longer have to worry about finding a radio station or wondering how long I’ll be able to hear it as I drive through an area on a long trip.  But, I do miss the old days as I tuned my radio to the AM band and searched for talk shows.  I was a talk show fan from the beginning of my trucking days, well before the events of 9-11 launched other talk show careers and solidified the format.  I was mainly a fan of political talk, but did enjoy other formats like NPR and Bruce Williams which was a financial advice call in show.

Six Flags acquired the Magic Mountain theme park in Valencia, California, in 1979. Through the years, the park has continued to compete with some success against nearby Disneyland, becoming known for its series of thrilling roller coasters. Among them are the Riddler's Revenge, the fastest stand-up roller coaster in the world, and X2, a rare coaster on which passengers spin 360 degrees in their seats.
